One of those people is Isaac.

Isaac is a 16-year-old high school student from Dallas, Texas. He’s bright, motivated, and already dreaming big. He wants to become an intellectual property lawyer one day. But he’s also deeply passionate about photography—especially sports photography.

“One day I looked through my dad’s camera lens,” Isaac recalls, “and I saw my future through that lens.”

That moment sparked a journey that would carry Isaac through personal challenges, connect him with world-class mentors, and eventually help him become a leader in his community—all with the support of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCA), a nonprofit organization supported by the CAVU Impact Pledge.

When Isaac was 13, he entered a photo contest through BGCA—and won. His prize? Free registration for an online photography bootcamp through OutSchool. The course taught him the fundamentals of photography—lighting, shutter speed, composition, and focus—while giving him hands-on experience and the chance to be mentored by professional sports photographer Jay Gorodetzer.

But in February 2021, just as Isaac was hitting his stride, disaster struck. Winter Storm Uri flooded his home, forcing Isaac and his mother to relocate to a hotel for over a month. It could have easily derailed his progress.

Instead, thanks to the continued support of BGCA and OutSchool, Isaac didn’t miss a beat. He completed his bootcamp via Zoom from the hotel room, keeping his passion alive even in the toughest of circumstances.

For his final project, Isaac was invited to the Dallas Cowboys’ World Headquarters and practice facility, where he received his own camera and shot a one-on-one photoshoot with former Cowboys star DeMarcus Ware. It was a dream come true—and a major milestone in his journey as a photographer.

In March 2024, Isaac’s talents took him back to the Cowboys’ facility—this time as a working photographer. He was asked to document “Beyond the Field: Tackling STEM,” a hands-on educational event hosted by BGCA in partnership with the Dallas Cowboys, Science of Sport, and Lenovo. Over 150 Club kids participated in interactive experiments and football drills to learn how STEM and sports go hand in hand.

Isaac captured every moment.

“With sports photography, you can never get a wrong shot,” he says. “You still get the motion and the action. I’m dramatic, so I love action.”

But Isaac’s impact doesn’t end behind the lens. When he’s not photographing major events, he’s helping design marketing materials for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. He volunteers at the front desk, greets visitors with a smile, and serves as a mentor to younger members.

“I like being someone they can talk to,” he says.

In recognition of his leadership, creativity, and resilience, Isaac was recently named Youth of the Year by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.

And he’s just getting started.

The Boys & Girls Clubs’ focus on hands-on learning and dedicated mentorship empowers youth like Isaac to explore their passions and imagine new possibilities. In fact, over half of 12th-graders who attend BGCA are interested in pursuing a STEM career—compared to just 27% of their peers nationally. That’s the power of opportunity. That’s the power of investment.

When you choose to work with CAVU Securities, you’re not just making smart financial decisions—you’re helping unlock the potential of the next generation. Through the CAVU Impact Pledge, your money is helping provide real-world experiences, personal mentorship, and life-changing moments to kids who deserve a shot at something greater.
