As we begin a new year, CAVU Securities is proud to celebrate one of last year’s most inspiring moments: Army Green Beret veteran and adaptive athlete Luke Kittel’s courageous performance at the Patagonman Xtreme Triathlon in Chile—one of the toughest endurance races in the world.
Luke’s journey to Patagonman was nothing short of remarkable. The race itself pushes athletes to their absolute limits, featuring a 2.4-mile swim in near-freezing waters, a 114-mile bike ride through rugged mountain terrain, and a 26.2-mile trail run across challenging and unforgiving conditions.
Through months of intense preparation, while balancing a demanding schedule and adapting to a new prosthetic, Luke committed himself fully to the challenge. Although he was unable to complete the entire course, his participation and determined effort stand as a powerful testament to resilience, courage, and the willingness to attempt something extraordinary. His journey sends a meaningful message to wounded veterans and adaptive athletes around the world: progress is found in showing up, pushing limits, and refusing to quit on possibility.
CAVU Securities is honored to have supported Luke through our 2025 Impact Partner, True North Foundation. True North empowers veterans and their families through education, employment, adaptive sports, and rehabilitation programs.
Earlier this year, CAVU co-hosted the annual Whiskey for Warriors event in New York City alongside True North to celebrate Luke and raise funds in support of his Patagonman journey. Through this partnership, we were proud to help Luke reach his fundraising goal while spotlighting the vital work of a nonprofit creating real, lasting impact in the veteran community.
Luke’s journey exemplifies the spirit behind our Impact Pledge.
